Lyn takes an integrationist approach that incorporates the best from those counseling theories that work well together. Using interventions that research has shown to be effective such as Client Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, and Solution Focused therapies, she likes to identify client strengths, explore ways to increase support, and restore hope by empowering clients to resolve the challenges they may be facing through mutual goal setting. She works with partners of those struggling with sex addiction using the Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model (M-PTM) both individually and in support group.

Marital Counseling

Lyn has completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and utilizes the Gottman Method Couples Therapy in her work. This therapy is based on 40 years of research with more than 3,000 couples. It’s designed to help couples manage conflict with kindness, deepen friendship and intimacy, and share their life purpose and dreams; all of which lead to a healthier and happier future.

Additionally, Lyn is PREPARE/ENRICH and SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) trained. Prepare/Enrich is the leading relationship inventory and skill-building program used nationally and internationally. Both PREPARE/ENRICH and SYMBIS are built on solid research which are designed to significantly improve a couple's relationship. Each is custom tailored to a couple's relationship and provides couple exercises to build relationship skills.

Partner Betrayal/Partner Relational Trauma

Lyn is APSATS trained (Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists) as a Certified Clinical Partner Specialist candidate (CCPS-c) utilizing the Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model. In this model, the partner of someone with a sex addiction is NOT seen as a “co-addict,” but someone who is impacted by events out of his or her control. The primary focus is on the partner, and they are assisted in regaining personal agency, and in transforming their story into one of empowerment.
